Fabio has found the fun of frolicking in the flume flagging and has gone in search of greater thrills. Spending his days in the underground tank suspended over the long drop into the murky water below is now more his thing. He has convinced Freya the Frog (somewhat reluctantly) to join him in his tightrope escapades. With the possibility of water cascading out of the bore pipe into the abyss, he is harbouring ideas of making a fortune opening the Joyfallee Water World. However if he is relying on the bore pump actually working to create the waterfall effect, his economic model may need tweaking, with JWW set to be closed for about 364 days per year.

Theodora

The joy has disappeared from Joyfallee with the death of Theodora, movie star chicken. She was attacked and torn apart in broad daylight, with her body discarded on the ground like a poor broken toy, and feathers strewn about resembling petals or fallen stars. A sweet and guileless soul, who never raised a beak in anger, and dwelt in a world forever framed by her floating feathery headdress –she deserved to live happily into old age and die peacefully – not to endure such a violent end.

Dear 2017, FYI I have finally emerged, blinking, from the analogue era, bought at new TV and discovered Netflix – so I am unlikely to see much of you during your year. I may surface in time  to interact a little with 2018.

BTW Chocolate Bunny is loving the binge watching – but even he needs to take the occasional snooze break.

With the recent death of Fidel Castro, Milky Way has taken the opportunity officially to end all pretence at a chicken commune. She has, instead, instituted a right-wing dictatorship led by her good self, and is enforcing the new regime with gusto. Her well aimed pecks have seen Etoile Filante becoming accomplished at the 50 yard dash in any direction leading away from Milky Way’s beak. The silkies, unable to see above their head feather canopies, are convinced at regular intervals that the sky is falling.

Charity begins with carrots

Le Cadeau is putting his best lip forward as a Mo Bro for Movember. Being a little hard of hearing these days (…read almost totally deaf) he has been a bit confused about the cause and is trying to raise funds for horse health. He wants to establish a charity devoted entirely to ensuring that all horses (starting with the ones at Joyfallee) have access to carrots on demand 24/7. The first use of funds raised for this Carrotbank concept will be to establish a warehouse-sized cool room at Joyfallee to accommodate the volume of carrots that he anticipates will be needed to keep himself, Willo and Calamity in tip top health.

Chocolate Bunny organised an in-home massage session. He enjoyed the therapy, although with only carrots available to use as legal tender, he was a bit sorry he could only afford the Readers Digest version.

It is no secret that Le Cadeau has harboured some misgivings about this personal dresser’s taste in rugs – however, he is counting his lucky stars that he didn’t hire the services of Calamity Jane’s stylist. Although Calamity is not averse to the African Plains Seringeti look that seems to be sweeping Joyfallee, even she is questioning whether her latest outfit is just a tad overstated.

Le Cadeau celebrated his 31^st birthday today by engaging in a spot of cradle snatching. While  there is quite a gulf in their ages, he is hopeful that his relationship with Calamity Jane may well blossom, as they have a lot of interests in common – with eating carrots being a major shared passion.  In the throes of first love, he even finds her affinity for 80’s style fluro leg warmers attractive. Although they are yet to embark on a first date, he thinks if he plays his cards right, the future could be filled with a golden angel at his side, and a bevy of gold and white pinto babies.

Le Cadeau is unsure about the modus operandi of his personal dresser which appears to be “Too much pinto is never enough”. He is inclined to think that the resulting outfit is a bridge too far.

Freya the frog ventured to Joyfallee one night recently in search of love. She had heard tell that there was a rather handsome brown hopper in residence and, having had no success in the romance stakes on Tinder, was hoping to catch his eye. Her disappointment at discovering the resident jumper came complete with a full coat of hair and no predilection for swimming was palpable. She is thinking of returning to the online dating thing, but has made a mental note to specify that long ears in a potential partner are a deal breaker.
