Having
heard that the anti-pigeon sentiments at Joyfallee have softened somewhat of
late, a Wonga pigeon came a’visiting. The enthusiastic call of the Wonga pigeon
has been described in the literature as “monotonous” (think a relentless “WONG
WONG WONG WONG WONG WONG WONG” delivered in monotone with no discernible pause
for drawing breath). The visiting pigeon is prone to strike up a hearty
rendition of the song of his people in the wee small hours of the morning. Those
residents of Joyfallee prone to insomnia have alternatively described the call
as “incredibly annoying”. They have been drawn inexorably to the conclusion
that it is “too pigeoney”.
