Le Cadeau admits to being more than a little disappointed that he failed to make it onto the walls of the Chicken Diaries Art Exhibition. In response he has been found of late working hard on his best Mr Ed impressions, in the hope of starring in films in lieu of on canvas.

Lovely day at a dressage competition today – catching up with old friends and making some new ones. This chicken stopped by for an extended chin-wag (or, more accurately, beak-wag). 

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

When it comes to Christmas wrapping, Chocolate Bunny can’t help himself and subjects all wrapping paraphernalia at Joyfallee to a rigorous quality control process. Attributes to be checked include strength, taste, bling factor and suitability for wrapping bananas. Extra points are awarded for cards with nativity scenes that prominently feature rabbits.

The Joyfallee cockatoos are not averse to a little interpretive dance if needs must. They are especially adept at the interpretive dance performed at a window to alert the occupier of the other side of the window to a dire emergency….such as an empty feed dish. They find it most effective where the dance is accompanied by meaningful stares, thus communicating the seriousness of the situation and the need for immediate remedial action – the usual result being a replenishment of the dwindling food supplies…..and an influx of about 250 of the interpretive dancer’s best friends.

Inspired by the spotted chickens, and their recent depictions in various art forms, Chocolate Bunny is trying out the polka dot look. He decided a makeover was a fitting way to celebrate International Rabbit Day. With their recent experiences of other special days, the residents of Joyfallee are grateful this one is passing with a minimum of fanfare.

Still reeling from the effects of Plover Appreciation Day the residents of Joyfallee are now struggling to deal with International Talk Like a Pirate Day. The Wonga pigeons have taken to this concept with gusto and have embarked on an endless chorus of “WONGAARRGH, WONGAARRGH, WONGAARRGH….”. This has seen Milky Way heading to Bunnings to collect a bulk order of high performance ear muffs. The Joyfalleeans have declared the pigeons to be “too piratey”.
